US President Donald Trump has demanded that Illinois Governor Jay B. Pritzker introduce a national guard to combat crime, which the politician does not agree with. He wrote about this on October 4 on the social network X.

"This morning, the US Department of War, together with Trump, presented me with an ultimatum: call up the troops, or we will call them. It is completely outrageous and un-American to demand that the governor send troops to our own borders against our will," the publication says.

Pritzker explained that there was no need for such a measure.

On September 2, Trump declared that Chicago is the worst and most dangerous city in the world. The US president stressed that the situation in the city requires urgent intervention, and promised to return security there.

Later, on September 15, Trump announced the possible use of the National Guard in Chicago. He stressed that in this case, the same methods can be used as in Washington.

On September 28, it was reported that U.S. Border Patrol forces had arrived in Chicago. Arrests began in the city center, the footage of which spread on social networks. Illinois Governor Jay B. Pritzker called on citizens to know their rights and be vigilant, stressing the inadmissibility of the militarization of American cities.
