On October 4, Izvestia published footage of the situation near the residence of the President of Georgia in Tbilisi, after a crowd of protesters broke into the courtyard of the residence.

"Behind my back, you can see several hundred protesters trying to break into the presidential palace, and the situation is very tense right now. Riot police fired tear gas, and there are casualties," said journalist Giorgi Jabishvili.

According to him, dozens of ambulances have been mobilized near the residence and reinforcements from the Georgian Interior Ministry have arrived. The journalist stressed that the protesters are barricading the buildings of the presidential palace, and the situation continues to be tense.

On the same day, protests against the ruling Georgian Dream party began in Tbilisi's Freedom Square against the backdrop of the country's parliamentary elections. The demonstration was joined by immigrants who arrived in Georgia for today's rally. In the footage from social networks, you can see protesters not only with national, but also with American flags.

Later, it became known that protesters in Tbilisi broke into the courtyard of the Georgian president's residence, breaking through iron barriers. The special forces used pepper spray against them.
