The death toll of participants in climbing a volcano in Kamchatka has increased to two

A woman who was injured on the Vilyuchinsky volcano died during the descent from her injuries. Thus, the death toll increased to two. This was announced on October 4 by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

"During the descent from the scene, a woman injured on the Vilyuchinsky volcano died from her injuries," the ministry said in a statement.

It is noted that at the moment rescuers are helping the third participant of the tourist group to descend to a height of 1.5 thousand m. Doctors are waiting for her there to provide assistance, the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted. A total of 40 people are involved in the rescue operation.

The climbers' breakdown during the ascent of the Vilyuchinsky volcano became known earlier in the day. Then one of the band members called the rescuers.

Later, rescuers found two climbers on the Vilyuchinsky volcano in Kamchatka. According to the main regional directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation, one of the tourists injured on the Vilyuchinsky volcano died. Rescuers also reached the third participant of the hike, she was not injured.
