More than 500,000 people attended pro-Palestinian protests in Italy. The action escalated into clashes with the police, as a result of which there are detainees. This was reported on October 4 by Rai News.
It is noted that in Turin, participants of the rally threw glass bottles, chairs and sticks at law enforcement officers. The police had to use force and tear gas to restore order on the streets of the city. In addition, 12 demonstrators who violated public order were detained in Milan. In turn, in Venice, the police used water cannons to disperse the activists.
The footage, which is published by Izvestia, shows thousands of people with posters "Freedom for Palestine" and "Stop genocide" marching through the streets of Italian cities. In addition, people in the crowd are shouting anti-Israeli slogans.
Earlier, on October 2, large-scale protests began around the world after the Israeli military intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), which was heading with humanitarian cargo to the Gaza Strip. So, thousands of actions were held in Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, as well as in Rome and other Italian cities.
Prior to that, on October 1, it was reported that the Israeli military had boarded the flotilla ships. At least nine vessels are currently known to have been intercepted.
