Protests against the ruling Georgian Dream party have begun in Tbilisi's Freedom Square amid the country's parliamentary elections. This was announced on October 4 by the correspondent of Izvestia, Giorgi Jabishvili.

"Radical oppositionists are holding a protest action against the elections that took place across the country today. It is worth noting that the representatives of the radical opposition themselves did not participate in the elections, but <in advance>... They announced large—scale actions and a revolution," the journalist said.

The student march began at Tbilisi State University. The protesters headed to Freedom Square through Peter Melikishvili and Shota Rustaveli Avenues.

The demonstration was joined by immigrants who arrived in Georgia for today's rally. In the footage from social networks, you can see protesters not only with national, but also American flags.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that hundreds of cars moved towards Tbilisi to take part in the protests. In the video posted by the Sova Georgia portal, you can see a lot of cars driving towards Tbilisi and actively honking their horns. Passengers wave Georgian flags.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
