A court in the DPR sentenced a local resident to 15 years in prison for treason
Sergei Petrik, a resident of the village of Volodarskoye in the Donetsk region, was sentenced to 15 years for high treason. This was announced on October 4 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.
It is noted that the man was detained by employees of the regional Department of the FSB on suspicion of complicity with the Ukrainian special services.
The investigation found that he proactively established contact with representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on WhatsApp (part of Meta, the organization is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) and provided them with information about the locations of units of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Earlier, on September 12, the Sevastopol City Court sentenced a resident of Crimea to 17 years in prison for participating in the preparation of a terrorist attack and making an improvised explosive device (IED) on behalf of the SBU. According to the investigation, the man seized the components of an improvised explosive device from two caches in the Dzhankoy district of Crimea on the instructions of the curator and assembled it according to the instructions of the SBU via video link. He left the device in a hiding place in the Balaklava district of Sevastopol.
