A pensioner in Germany accidentally gassed 24 people. This was reported on October 3 by the German newspaper Bild.

The publication clarified that a fire broke out in the basement of a private house owned by a 79-year-old pensioner, which contributed to the release of a dangerous substance into the air. The experts conducted an analysis of the gaseous environment and found out that it was phosphine.

The colorless, highly toxic gas has spread beyond the household to the surrounding areas. 24 people were injured, some required urgent hospitalization.
