Death toll from school collapse in Indonesia rises to 14

The death toll from the collapse of the Al-Khozini boarding school in the Indonesian city of Sidoarjo has risen to 14 people. This was reported on October 4 by the Indonesian division of CNN.

It is specified that as a result of the incident 103 people survived and 14 people died, while the number of missing people is 49 people.

CNN notes that the process of evacuation and garbage collection using heavy machinery is still ongoing.

"Currently, the team is focused on the north side, namely on the part of the ruins that is not integrated into the main structure of the building," the article emphasizes.

The fact that a school building collapsed in Indonesia became known on September 30. The tragedy occurred at an Islamic boarding school in the east of Java Island. It was clarified that among the missing were mostly boys from grades 7 to 11, aged 12 to 17 years. At least 99 students were injured, many of whom suffered head injuries and broken bones.
