In autumn, vitamin D intake is necessary for almost everyone, even those who have been in the sun in the summer. This was announced on October 4 by Marina Yakusheva, an expert of the Doctor TV channel, a general practitioner, PhD, in an interview with Gazeta.Ru».

"The preventive dosage is 2-2.5 thousand international units, 5-6 drops per day. It's safe. If possible, it is better to take an analysis and select the dose individually. Overdose at the standard dose is unlikely. Studies on thousands of people have shown that this dosage is safe," the doctor explained.

Yakusheva called self-medication and uncontrolled intake of vitamins the main mistake after watching blogs or reading articles. She stressed the importance of taking into account contraindications and possible intolerance to the components of the drugs.

She said that for people over 50 years of age, three groups of vitamins are especially important in autumn: D to support immunity, groups B (B1, B6, B9, B12) for the nervous system and hemoglobin levels, as well as vitamin C to strengthen the body's defenses during the SARS season.

"Vitamin D, B vitamins and vitamin C are the base for supporting the body in autumn," Yakusheva said.

The doctor noted that with a balanced diet, additional intake of vitamins (except D) is usually not required. If symptoms of deficiency appear — fatigue, hair loss, brittle nails — you should consult a doctor for tests and spot replacement of missing elements.

As for vitamin C, the preventive norm is 250-500 mg per day. The form of admission is not fundamental and depends on personal preferences. Yakusheva also advised to spread the intake of vitamin D and B vitamins in time for at least two hours.

Symptoms of vitamin B deficiency can include fatigue, weakness, decreased stress tolerance, and increased anxiety. The doctor recommends getting calcium from food, and taking calcium supplements only as prescribed by a doctor if there is a deficiency, the expert concluded.

Earlier in the day, doctors noted that after the age of 70, metabolism changes and strict adherence to three meals a day sometimes does more harm than good. Doctors advise to adjust the diet to preserve strength and prolong life.
