The Guardian reported on the permission to cancel TPS for 300 thousand Venezuelans
The US Supreme Court has allowed US President Donald Trump to revoke the Temporary Protection Status (TPS) for 300,000 Venezuelans. This was reported on October 4 by The Guardian newspaper.
"The US Supreme Court has allowed the administration of Donald Trump to deprive more than 300,000 Venezuelan migrants of legal protection," the publication says.
It is noted that these measures were taken to speed up the process of deportation of immigrants from the United States. The case is related to the decision of the US Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristy Noem, to terminate the TPS.
Earlier, on September 19, it was reported that the Trump administration appealed to the Supreme Court with a request to issue a ruling allowing to deprive more than 300 thousand migrants from Venezuela of temporary protection. Trump's lawyer, John Sauer, noted that the Supreme Court's ruling in May, after which 350,000 Venezuelans lost their protective status, should be applied in the current case.
