Israel has begun preparations for the implementation of the first stage of the settlement plan in the Gaza Strip, which was proposed by US President Donald Trump. This was announced on October 4 in the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"In light of the response from [the Palestinian movement] Hamas, Israel is proceeding with the immediate implementation of the first phase of Trump's plan for the immediate release of all hostages," the statement said.
