French athlete Fontenoy broke the world record for climbing the Eiffel Tower
French athlete Fontenoy broke the world record for climbing the Eiffel Tower by bicycle on the steps. This was announced on October 3 in a post on the tower's Facebook account (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).
"12 minutes and 30 seconds: that's how long it took Aurelien Fontenoy to climb the 686 steps leading to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower on a trial bike," the publication says.
It is noted that he beat the previous record of Hugues Richard, who climbed the tower in 19 minutes and 4 seconds.
Earlier, on September 28, it was reported that Egyptian Ashraf Mohamed had set a record, who, as the world champion in powerlifting, was able to move a 700-ton vessel using his teeth. This action, as specified in the publication, was aimed at the development of tourism in this area — Hurghada.
