Vladimir Golubev, President of the Russian Cynological Federation, explained what an orthopedic dog bed should be.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Friday, October 3, he said that you can take various mats, booths and beds for pets, not limited to one thing.

The expert noted that the world is becoming more comfortable for pets as well: many products are useless, but medical innovations, if applied correctly, can really improve a dog's life. An orthopedic couch is a memory—effect mattress that adapts to the shape of the body. Such solutions have long been used in humans for problems with the spine and joints, but they are also useful for prevention. Dogs, especially large, active or elderly ones, are also susceptible to such diseases. At the same time, they sleep up to 16 hours a day, so the convenience of lying down plays a key role.

A good memory model is expensive, but it will last a long time. It is better to take the size with a margin — at least 15 cm longer than the length of the pet.

You can do without an ordinary pillow or a house, the main thing is to provide the dog with a comfortable and protected place. But in case of problems with the musculoskeletal system, an orthopedic mattress will be the best choice. The decision should be made together with the veterinarian, taking into account the age, health and lifestyle of the animal.

On October 1, Vladimir Golubev warned that chestnuts are very dangerous for dogs. First of all, a dog can mistake a chestnut for a toy, pick it up and simply choke on it, RT notes. According to the expert, the chestnut contains the substance esculin, which causes poisoning. 360.ru .

At the end of September, biologist Marina Tatarenko said that it is possible to remove fleas from a dog using folk methods. In particular, various essential oils that repel fleas are also popular. However, the effect of such folk remedies is short-lived and the dog's treatment will have to be repeated almost weekly.

On September 15, the National News Agency, citing Poros, wrote that more than a quarter of Russians said they did not want to walk their dogs. In particular, 26% of respondents indicated that they dream of hiring a dogsitter for their pet, a special person they can trust, and 18% replied that their dog is walked by their spouses or children.
