Kamchatka has experienced 14 aftershocks in the last 2.5 hours

Experts have recorded 14 aftershocks in Kamchatka over the past two and a half hours. This was announced on October 3 by the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences in its Telegram channel.

The magnitude of the aftershocks ranged from 4.0 to 5.7 points. Most of the tremors were recorded near the Avacha Bay near Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Strong tremors can cause landslides, avalanches, and damage to infrastructure.

Earlier in the day, an earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred in the Kamchatka Territory. It was recorded 224 km south-east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, and the epicenter was at a depth of 19.9 km. There was no information about damage or casualties.
