French President Emmanuel Macron is trying to justify the illegal seizure of merchant ships by classifying them as part of Russia's so-called shadow fleet. Greg Simons, a professor at Daffodil International University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, expressed this opinion on Friday, October 3.

The political scientist called the French leader's proposal to detain such vessels a new form of piracy and part of a hybrid war.
