Theater and film director Eduard Boyakov has become the new artistic director of the Malaya Ordynka Theater. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Moscow Department of Culture on Friday, October 3.

They recalled that Boyakov has been leading various projects in the theater for more than 30 years, NSN reports.

Boyakov worked as artistic director of the Gorky Moscow Art Theater, created the theaters Praktika, Polytheater and the New Theater. He is a producer and director of productions at the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters, the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater, and the director of the unique multimedia performance "Cathedral Square", created in 2024 at the Moskino Film Park. In addition, Boyakov is one of the creators of the Golden Mask and Tradition festivals, as well as the Moscow Easter Festival, Moscow 24 reports.

Evgeny Gerasimov, who previously held the position of artistic director of the theater, will focus on public activities and management of the Satire Theater, clarifies 360.ru .

Honored Artist of Russia Ekaterina Guseva congratulated Boyakov on his appointment as artistic director of the Malaya Ordynka Theater, the Moscow City News Agency reports. According to the artist, she is attracted to Boyakov's work because it is based on traditional values — Orthodoxy and respect for Russian culture.

It is also a monument: Sovremennik will immortalize its founders in bronze.

Founded by Oleg Yefremov, the theater opened its 70th anniversary season.

On August 21, Olga Yegoshina, professor at the Moscow Art Theater Studio School, Doctor of Art History, expert of the federal selection committee for the Golden Fund of Theatrical Productions of Russia, told how the performances were selected for the Golden Fund. She explained that this happened with the participation of numerous experts on ten criteria, which ensured the objectivity of the process.

This, according to Yegoshina, was not the taste of three people: a large number of specialists worked, which guaranteed the independence and relevance of the choice. The fund includes 100 performances from different regions of Russia, representing various theaters and productions.
