Court arrests billionaire Suleymanov in murder case
The Basmanny Court of Moscow has placed billionaire Ibrahim Suleymanov under arrest until December 2 in the case of the contract killing of Georgy Tal— the former head of the Federal Service for Financial Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy. This was reported on December 3 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
The meeting was held behind closed doors. The investigator motivated his request by the fact that not all the defendants in the case have been identified, and also that medical documents are present in the materials. Suleymanov himself and his defenders objected to the closure of the trial.
According to the source, the perpetrator of the high-profile murder was also detained by security forces two days ago.
The ex-director of the FSFO was shot on April 28, 2004, when he arrived at the MSOPAU office on Staraya Basmannaya Street. After parking the car, Tal headed for the door of the building. At that moment, a hitman approached him from behind and fired a TT pistol. The first bullet hit him in the back, the next two were stuck in his briefcase, and the fourth hit him in the stomach. The killer fled in the light green "ten", in which his accomplice was located. Tal was taken to the hospital, but it was not possible to save him — he died in intensive care on the same day.
