- A Rolls-Royce driver who ran over a biker in St. Petersburg was released from custody
Sergei Sosorev, a motorcyclist who moved to a Rolls-Royce in St. Petersburg, was released from custody. This was reported on October 3 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the Krasnoselsky district Court of the city.
"Sosorev should be released from custody in the courtroom immediately," the judge ruled.
The measure of restraint was changed to an obligation to appear.
The accident occurred on June 1 at the intersection of Peterhof Highway and Admiral Tributs Street. The Rolls-Royce, driven by the 37-year-old chairman of the board of TSN Vsevolozhsky 29, hit motorcyclist Mavlet Esenbolatov moving in the left lane, and then ran over him with its wheels.
According to an eyewitness, after the collision, the driver and passenger of an expensive car approached the victim, but did not provide assistance, but tried to hide their tracks. The motorcyclist was hospitalized in serious condition and underwent several operations. On June 7, Zaur Batsiev, the victim's lawyer, told Izvestia that Esenbolatov had a broken pelvis, shoulder, elbow and several vertebrae. He's going to have a new operation.
It is also known that Sosorev reimbursed the damage in full. Between 2024 and 2025, Sosorev was brought to administrative responsibility 44 times for violating traffic rules. Criminal cases have been opened against him for causing serious harm to health and attempted murder.
