The investigation requests the detention of billionaire Ibrahim Suleymanov in the case of the contract killing of Georgy Tal— the former head of the Federal Service for Financial Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy. This was reported to Izvestia on October 3 by the court's press service.

The ex-director of the FSFO was shot on April 28, 2004, when he arrived at the MSOPAU office on Staraya Basmannaya Street. After parking the car, Tal headed for the door of the building. At that moment, a hitman approached him from behind and fired a TT pistol. The first bullet hit him in the back, the next two were stuck in his briefcase, and the fourth hit him in the stomach. The killer fled in the light green "ten", in which his accomplice was. Tal was taken to the hospital, but it was not possible to save him — he died in intensive care on the same day.

According to the Izvestia source, Suleymanov already has a criminal record. In 2007, the billionaire and his partner Tatevos Surinov were accused of fraud and money laundering. The damage amounted to more than 4.5 million dollars. The Basmanny court sentenced the defendants to 10 years in prison. In 2015, Suleymanov was released on parole.
