Dozens of discussions and presentations were held within the framework of the international conference in the field of technological entrepreneurship Moscow Startup Summit, which was held in the capital for the first time on October 1-2, an exhibition of modern solutions was opened, and the winners of the Startup Summit Awards were awarded. This was reported in the press service of the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative development.
The conference was organized by the Government of Moscow and Sberbank. The main event of the first day was a plenary session with the participation of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and Sberbank President and Chairman of the Board German Gref.
"The conference brought together more than 5,000 innovators, investors, representatives of large companies, relevant departments and scientific institutes from Russia and 40 other countries. These include Belarus, China, India, Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates," Sergunina said.
Over 150 experts participated in the business program. They discussed the future of smart cities, the development of technologies and their application in various fields, including creative industries. The experts also talked about promising areas of international cooperation.
About 100 modern solutions were presented at the startup exhibition, including 50 developments by residents of the Moscow Innovation Cluster. Among them are several robots for various purposes, a career guidance service that analyzes neuroactivity, and an employee productivity monitoring system.
According to Alexander Vedyakhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sberbank, the participants of the Moscow Startup Summit saw how global interest in the Russian technology market was developing. "We also held a demo day of the Sber500 international accelerator as part of the summit. Following the summit, funds and startups announced investment proposals worth over 1.6 billion rubles," he said.
The key event of the second day of the summit was the award ceremony for the winners of the Startup Summit Awards for their contribution to the development of innovation. In total, more than 1,700 applications were received from 79 regions of Russia. The jury selected the winners in 17 nominations. Seven awards were given to the capital's organizations.
