The lawyer warned about particularly dangerous fraud schemes
Fraudsters began to use schemes in which they not only extort all their savings, but also involve victims in criminal activities, lawyer Viktor Sergeev told Izvestia. According to him, such schemes have been gaining popularity in Russia for the last six months.
"Attackers contact a person under a plausible pretext, for example, admission to a university, hack into his account on Gosuslugi, and then, posing as special services, accuse him of financing the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.). Using patriotism and fear of criminal prosecution, they force them to carry out assignments that lead to violations of the law," Sergeyev explained.
Now the lawyer represents the interests of two victims, Daniil and Alexandra, who gave the fraudsters amounts from hundreds of thousands to millions of rubles, and then were tricked into courier work. As a result, the young people ended up in jail and can receive up to several years in prison.
"Their psychological state is extremely difficult," Sergeyev said.
The lawyer insists on conducting forensic psychiatric examinations, arguing that the victims acted under duress without realizing the consequences. Read the details of the criminal investigation in the Izvestia article:
