A suspect in the murder of a woman and children in Ulyanovsk was arrested for two months

A court has arrested a man suspected of murdering a 27-year-old woman and her two daughters in Ulyanovsk. He was given a preventive measure in the form of detention for two months. This was announced on October 3 by the press service of the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.

"The court has considered the investigator's petition <...> to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the accused of murdering his wife and young children in an apartment on Kievsky Boulevard," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is noted that during the court session, evidence of the defendant's involvement in the crime was presented. In addition, the investigators also provided grounds for choosing the "most severe preventive measure."

Sergei Balikhin, nicknamed Golos, has been serving a life sentence since 2014.

The murder of a 27-year-old woman and her two daughters in Ulyanovsk was reported on October 1. A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of two or more persons").

Later, the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Ulyanovsk region informed about the detention of the head of the family suspected of the crime. It is specified that the consequences of the crime were discovered by his mother.

On the same day, a video was posted from the scene in Ulyanovsk, where the bodies of a girl and two girls with signs of violent death were found. The footage shows that the bathtub in the apartment is filled with red liquid, presumably blood.
