A criminal case was opened against a man who tried to kidnap a girl in Balashikha. This was reported on October 3 on the website of the Main Investigation Department (GSU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) for the Moscow region.
"An investigator of the territorial investigation department of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region has detained a man born in 1985 on suspicion of kidnapping an 8-year—old girl (paragraph "d" of Part 2 of Article 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the report says.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved. The department added that investigators and criminologists conducted an inspection of the scene, searched the suspect's house and studied the video recording of the moment of the crime.
In Balashikha, Moscow region, on October 2, passers-by helped a schoolgirl escape from a man who allegedly tried to kidnap her. The video recorded by the cameras shows an unknown man running after the schoolgirl, grabbing her hand and trying to hold her back. Local residents reported that the man introduced himself as the schoolgirl's father, but she denied it.
On October 3, police officers from the Moscow region detained a 39-year-old native of Kurgan, who had tried to take a young girl with him the day before in Balashikha. According to the source of Izvestia, the man's name is Vitaly M. He was repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility for minor hooliganism and for drinking alcohol in public places.
