The United States announced the military's readiness to launch an operation against Venezuela.

US military personnel are ready to launch operations in Venezuela as part of the fight against drug trafficking. This was reported on October 3 by The Washington Examiner magazine.

"Military strategists believe that the forces gathered are now sufficient to capture and hold key strategic facilities such as ports and airfields in Venezuela," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, numerous warships of the Navy (Navy), 10 F-35 fighter jets, a marine corps unit with about 2.2 thousand naval personnel, and Harrier jets, as well as a submarine, were stationed off the coast of Venezuela.

The article emphasizes that Puerto Rico, located north of Caracas, is a "transit point for the deployment of the operation."

It is noted that the US control over such facilities will allow "to increase and maintain the permanent presence of American military power in Venezuela from defensive positions."
