The companion of the ex-judge Momotov Marchenko could not appeal the arrest
Businessman Andrey Marchenko, a partner of retired judge of the Supreme Court of Russia Viktor Momotov, was unable to appeal his arrest during the preliminary investigation in the criminal case. This was reported on October 3 in the joint press service of the courts of the Krasnodar Territory.
"Detention until November 18, 2025," TASS cites a court statement following the consideration of the defense's appeal.
On September 30, the Oktyabrsky court of Krasnodar sent Marchenko under arrest in a case of major fraud.
On September 23, the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation demanded that almost 100 real estate objects worth about 9 billion rubles be seized from Momotov. So, he used judicial immunity to cover up the assets formed jointly with Marchenko. The judge legalized 11 real estate objects that had been transferred to Marchenko. Shortly after that, on September 26, the Higher Qualification Board of Judges of the Russian Federation (HCCC) terminated Momotov's powers.
