Russians began to actively buy tours for the New Year holidays
Russians began to actively buy tours for the New Year holidays. According to the Travelvisor aggregator, which was reviewed on October 9 by Izvestia, the average cost of a tour for the last days of December and the beginning of January is 275 thousand rubles for 9 nights for two. This is almost 1.5 times more expensive than the average annual cost of tours, which is 182 thousand rubles.
Egypt and Thailand have become the most popular destinations for the New Year holidays. Egypt accounts for 24.9% of all New Year's tours, while Thailand lags slightly behind with a share of 21.6%. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) became the third most popular destination with a share of 14.5%.
Vietnam (11%) and China (7.5%) also entered the top 5. Particular attention should be paid to the growing interest in China, where bookings have increased one and a half times in recent months amid the cancellation of visas for Russian citizens.
Experts note that most bookings occur in the middle of autumn, but some Russians have booked tours as early as February or March. The price of early bookings remained stable and averaged more than 270 thousand rubles.
It is noted that the Maldives has become the most expensive destination — the average cost of the tour was 655 thousand rubles. At the same time, travelers who chose India became the most budget—friendly - a tour to this country cost an average of 208 thousand rubles, while the duration of such trips averaged 13 days, which is three to five days more than in other countries.
In early September, the MTS Travel travel service informed Izvestia that China had surpassed Egypt and the UAE in popularity among Russians last summer. According to experts, the tourist flow from Russia to China has increased by 75%. China came in second place after the traditionally sought-after Turkey in the ranking of popular destinations abroad.
