- Representatives of almost 80 countries have confirmed their participation in the II International Symposium "Creating the Future"
Scientists, architects, designers and artists from almost 80 countries will take part in the II International Symposium "Creating the Future", which will be held on October 7-8 in Moscow, at the Rossiya National Center. The event will bring together more than 7,000 participants, with 200 Russian and foreign speakers. Experts from China, the United States, Italy, Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa will share their views. The symposium is held under the auspices of the Decade of Science and Technology with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
About 50 events are planned within the framework of the Symposium: panel discussions, lectures, a strategic session, a design laboratory, a scenario workshop, master classes, debates with audience voting, and others. The participants will discuss trends in the formation of public spaces, visual codes and universal values that define the contours of the future, taking into account modern technological and humanitarian discoveries and concepts.
Maxim Oreshkin, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, Alexander Kharichev, Head of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Monitoring and Analysis of Social Processes, Artem Metelev, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Youth Policy of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, Director of the Department of Information and Press, Official Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Director of the Department for Multilateral humanitarian cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexander Alimov, Vice-President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Stepan Kalmykov, Chief Architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov, Director General of VTsIOM Valery Fedorov, Director General of ANO "IRI" Alexey Goreslavsky, Director General of ANO "Dialog" Vladimir Tabak and others.
Among the foreign experts are collector and organizer of contemporary art exhibitions Pierre-Christian Brochet (France), Director General of the Zwane University of Technology, member of the Academy of Sciences of South Africa Rasigan Maharaj (South Africa), Senior Cultural Specialist at the Department of Health, Humanitarian Aid and Social Development of the African Union Commission, Senior staff Member of the African Academy of Languages (ACALAN) Vicencia Shule (Tanzania), artist-engineer, director of the Latin American Bioart Laboratory (UAI), Center for Experimental Art and former Executive Director of the UNESCO Network Joaquin Fargas (Argentina), science fiction writer Roberto Quaglia (Italy), architect, founder and CEO of James Law Cybertecture James Low (China) and others.
The rich expert program is divided into three tracks — "Society", "Technology" and "Global Cooperation", focused on discussing the transformation of society, current technological innovations and vectors of humanitarian interaction in a multipolar world.
The open program will include the discussion "Design today — the future of tomorrow", where participants will discuss the design code of the future. Within the framework of the round table "Through the Eyes of the South: the trajectory of creative cooperation", Russian and foreign experts plan to develop a roadmap for the development of cooperation through the creative industries as a space for creating new meanings, trust and sustainable partnerships. The real battle of ideas will unfold in the section "Debates: techno-optimism VS techno-pessimism".
The central event will be an open lecture hall with the participation of famous Russian and foreign visionaries, scientists, designers and representatives of creative industries. Experts will describe one day of the man of the future, offer options for what housing, transport, leisure, food and much more can be. The format assumes that each of the experts will present their own point of view on one of these topics. Listeners will be able to vote for those that are closer to them.
Special formats related to the topic of the future will be a bright part of the Symposium. The program will include a hackathon of the First Neurocontent Cup project, where teams compete in creating videos using neural networks on the theme "Russia of the Future is ..." The Bridge to Tomorrow: The Voice of a Generation quest will become a space where young Artek students will present their vision of the future. Another event is the All—Russian quiz "History of the Future: Science Fiction technologies" for schoolchildren and students. The award ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian Literary Prize in the field of science fiction will also take place at the Symposium site.
