AvtoVAZ intends to investigate the accident involving Lada Vesta near Vladimir
AvtoVAZ is interested in a full and comprehensive investigation of the accident involving Lada Vesta near Vladimir, operates exclusively in the legal field and is in contact with the traffic police investigating this accident. The press service of AVTOVAZ informed Izvestia about this on October 3.
The company said that based on publications in Telegram channels and the media, it had verified information about the incident with Lada Vesta. At the same time, representatives of the automaker cannot contact the participant in the accident.
"On October 3, the company made repeated attempts to contact the identified owner of the Vesta using the phone number that they left as the contact number when buying the car. Unfortunately, our interlocutor basically refused to confirm his identity and continue the dialogue. This complicates the identification of the causes of the accident," explained AvtoVAZ.
Lada representatives stressed that the currently available photographs from the scene do not allow not only to reliably establish, but also to assume the causes of the incident. AVTOVAZ specialists are ready to leave at any time to inspect the damaged car, they said.
"The owner of the Lada Vesta refused to continue the dialogue and provide access to the car for our technical specialists," AvtoVAZ stressed.
Alexander Shumsky, an auto lawyer, told about the traffic accident with Lada Vesta, RIA Novosti reported. According to him, the accident allegedly occurred due to the steering wheel lock while driving. A resident of the Gus-Khrustalny district was returning home along a familiar road, the car was carried to the side of the road, after which it turned over several times. The driver was injured and taken to the hospital.
Commenting on the incident, Maxim Kadakov, editor-in-chief of Za Rulem magazine, noted that at the moment it is impossible to judge that the steering wheel lock was the cause of the accident.
"There are no specific data/confirmations of the situation. The car is not clear where it is now. And the car belongs, as far as I understand, not to an individual, as it was stated. So it's too early to run with conclusions," Kadakov wrote on his Telegram channel.
In August, AvtoVAZ announced a free Lada Vesta service campaign. As specified by the Lada portal.Online", the firmware of one of the Vesta units is required due to the fact that the steering wheel of the car may lock because the driver does not follow the operating instructions.
On October 2, AvtoVAZ indicated its readiness to provide taxi companies with Lada cars. He stated that the company's production plan for 2026 and subsequent years can be adjusted to any volume required by the taxi industry, up to an additional 100-200 thousand vehicles.
