The likely perpetrator of Tal's murder testified against billionaire Suleymanov

One of the leaders of the Dagestan organized criminal group, Abakar D., who is a possible perpetrator of the murder of former head of the Federal Financial Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy Service Georgy Tal in 2004, testified against billionaire Ibrahim Suleymanov, who was also detained on suspicion of organizing this crime. This was reported on October 3 by a source of Izvestia.

According to the source, Abakar D. was arrested on October 1 in Odintsovo, Moscow region, and resisted a search. He was taken to the department to testify, but according to preliminary data, the suspect died of cardiac arrest.

At the same time, according to the source, before that he managed to testify against Suleymanov.

They tried to shoot Tal in the center of Moscow in April 2004. The man survived, he was taken to a hospital in the capital, but a few hours later he died of his injuries in intensive care. According to one version, the murder is connected with the intensification of criminal bankruptcy investigations.

On October 3, 2025, a source from Izvestia reported that Suleymanov had been detained on suspicion of organizing the murder. He and his brother Rasul were beneficiaries of Sirena-Travel, a large IT company, in 2024.
