Dmitry Medkov, Russia's most famous illegally convicted man, has died.
Dmitry Medkov died in the village of Kitaevskoye in the Stavropol Territory. He was convicted of murdering his 14-year-old sister, a crime he did not commit. This is reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda.

In 2003, as a student at Alexander College, he was arrested on suspicion of murdering his sister, who had disappeared eight months earlier. His friend testified against Medkov.
