The Moscow Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation has completed the investigation of the criminal case against blogger Maxim Katz (recognized as a foreign agent in the territory of the Russian Federation). This was reported on October 3 in the press service of the capital's Investigative Committee.

"The Khoroshevsky interdistrict investigative department of the investigative Department for the Northwestern Administrative District of the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow has completed the investigation of the criminal case against Maxim Katz, a foreign agent," the department's Telegram channel says.

He is accused in absentia of evading the duties stipulated by the legislation of the Russian Federation on foreign agents (Part 2 of art. 330.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The accused, who is located outside of Russia, had previously been brought to administrative responsibility twice for violating the procedure for the activities of a foreign agent.

It is also noted that the defendant repeatedly evaded the duties stipulated by the Federal Law "On Control over the Activities of persons under foreign Influence."

At the request of the investigation, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen in relation to the defendant. The criminal case has been referred to the court.

On September 25, Katz was put on the wanted list in all Interpol member states. It was also clarified that Katz had previously been convicted of spreading deliberately false information about the Russian army.
