Every day, job seekers look through vacancies hoping to find a decent job, but in this stream it is easy to run into a fake or fraudulent offer, which at best will take time, and at worst will harm their financial condition. On October 3, the HR director of the consulting company OOO "Together" told Izvestia about ways not to fall into the trap of a fake vacancy.ABOUT", practicing psychologist Dmitry Chernyshov.

The expert noted that in the process of reading a potential vacancy, you need to pay attention to the lack of a clear description of the tasks. The phrases "diverse work in a friendly team", "reliable and responsible people are needed for a new project" often mask the absence of a real position without specifics.

"The absence of the company's name, its website, and a specific office address is a serious reason to think about the offer. Check the banking details: if there is no company at the specified INN or its activity does not correspond to the vacancy, it is better not to consider the option. An intermediary organization is also suspicious, which massively recruits "managers" in various fields - from construction to IT," Chernyshov warned.

According to him, phrases like "Earning from 100,000 rubles at home without effort," "An affordable start for everyone," and "Passive income" focus on making easy money by playing on the desire to get rich quickly without effort. Real work requires skill and effort. An additional sign of a fake job is that the salary does not match the market and the vacancy.

As the specialist added, the hiring process in a serious company always includes several stages: a step-by-step interview, a test assignment, and a review of recommendations. The offer to conclude a contract after a five-minute conversation in the messenger looks suspicious. This means that the employer doesn't care who they hire, as long as the person agrees quickly.

"If they are rushing to sign a contract "right now", claiming that "the place will be occupied soon," you should know that this is manipulation. They're trying to stop you from thinking about everything carefully and checking it out," the psychologist said.

Please provide confidential information in advance by mail or live chat before the official offer is an attempt to steal your personal data for fraudulent schemes. A law-abiding employer asks you to provide passport data, INN, and bank card information only at the stage of signing an employment contract.

If you are required to pay a deposit, an insurance deposit, pay for compulsory education, or buy any kind of equipment "to start," this is definitely fraud in order to make money on gullible people.

There are several reasons for posting fake vacancies.

Some recruitment agencies or companies collect up-to-date contacts of specialists. These databases are sold or used to send spam. Another reason is to analyze the market — the company wants to study the market and understand how much a specialist costs and what his salary expectations are.

Another motivation may be the creation of an up—to-date database of specialists - this is an opportunity for a company to quickly close a vacancy and further reduce the motivation of employees to demand an increase in salary. By publishing vacancies, an employer wants to show their attractiveness to potential or existing investors.

In addition, with the help of a non-existent vacancy, an HR specialist can show higher management that he has a lot of work and cannot be fired in any way.

"How can I protect myself? Before responding to a job offer, study the company's website and employee reviews. Do not hesitate to ask clarifying questions about the tasks, working conditions and social package at the interview. A law-abiding employer will always provide clear answers to them. Being attentive to an employer's offer is the best ally in finding a real dream job," said psychologist Chernyshov.

On October 2, a new type of fraud was reported, in which attackers create digital copies of deceased people using neural network technologies. It is clarified that initially such developments were created for therapeutic purposes, helping people overcome loss through symbolic "communication" with the digital projection of the deceased.

On September 29, Pavel Mizinov, a cybersecurity expert at the Bank of Russia, warned that the main sign of fraud is talking about a text message code. According to him, if they ask you to confirm something via SMS, it's almost certainly scammers - it's better to interrupt the call right away. He stressed that a real courier or service employee can specify the delivery details, but will never request a code from the message.
