More than 63% of Russians spend most of their time cooking
More than 63% of Russians spend the most time cooking, not counting work and study. This follows from the results of the Yandex.Food survey, which was reviewed by Izvestia on October 3.
Analysts have studied what Russians spend their energy and time on every day, as well as how much attention they pay to cooking.
It turned out that cooking is not the most favorite activity of the respondents. Only 10% of respondents enjoy it, and one in five calls cooking a necessary commitment to their family or partner.
For the majority of respondents, cooking takes from one to two hours a day. At the same time, going to the grocery store and washing dishes are among the top 5 most unloved and tedious activities, analysts conclude.
In addition, Russians spend a lot of time cleaning, washing and ironing, as well as washing dishes and going to the grocery store. The last two cases are described by the respondents as the most exhausting: 23% and 22% of respondents, respectively.
Respondents experience the most positive emotions from communicating with loved ones (28%), watching movies and TV series (22%), while doing hobbies or creativity (20%), when alone with themselves (16%) and during beauty treatments (15%). Russians choose these classes if they have free time.
So, 30% admit that if they don't have to cook, they will watch a movie or a TV series. 29% will go out for a walk, and a fifth of the respondents will spend time on beauty and health. Another 17% choose communication with their loved ones, and 14% choose yoga and sports. At the same time, almost half of the respondents (46%) admitted that they sometimes prefer to order ready-made food or groceries from the store in order to save time for more pleasant things.
Interestingly, 40% of respondents consider their daily "schedule" to be too exhausting and would like to change their lifestyle. So, 28% of respondents share that if they had a couple of free hours a day, they would rest or sleep. An almost equal number of Russians would spend this time walking (23%), socializing with loved ones (22%), and creating (21%).
The survey respondents' answers vary greatly depending on their age. So, 30% of zoomers (from 18 to 25 years old) do not cook at home at all. Among people aged 26 to 35 and 36 to 45, this figure is significantly lower — 8% and 5%, respectively. But people over the age of 46 regularly cook at home.
On September 4, Elena Specenko, Director of the Roskachestvo Center for Food Safety Competencies, gave advice on choosing ready-made food in supermarkets. It was clarified that the main risks for consumers are related to violations of the conditions of storage and transportation of products.
