Russian skier Kryukov commented on Svan's statement about the boycott of the Olympic Games-2026.

Nikita Kryukov, the 2014 Olympic silver medalist, commented on the words of his Swedish colleague Lynn Swan about boycotting the 2026 Olympic Games in case the Russians were allowed in.

"Let's treat Swann's words as the personal opinion of a particular athlete. <...> If a Swedish woman doesn't want to perform, that's her problem," RT quoted him as saying.

He noted that Svan's point of view would not matter when deciding on the future of Russian skiers.

Kryukov added that Russian athletes intend to return to international tournaments.

Hopes for the new IOC leadership turned out to be in vain, but there is still good news.

Earlier in the day, Swedish skier and multiple World Cup winner Lynn Swan said she could boycott the Olympic Games if the Russians were allowed to participate. Svan said that she did not want to take part in the competition, because she did not know how she would feel if there were Russian athletes at the start.
