In a rapidly changing world, it is necessary to be prepared for anything. This was announced on October 2 by Russian President Vladimir Putin during the plenary session of the XXII annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

"None of us can fully foresee the future, of course, but this does not exempt us from the obligation to be prepared for anything that may happen," Putin said.

He added that the responsibility of each person in such historical moments is especially great, both for his own fate and for the fate of his country and the whole world. The Russian President stressed that the stakes in such times are extremely high.

"In practice, as time and recent events show, you need to be prepared for anything," the Russian leader added.

On the same day, Putin said that many international platforms had lost their meaning and degraded. He also noted that over time, Russia has come to the need to create institutions where issues are resolved on the basis of consensus and coordination of positions.
