Deptrans announced the absence of dummy traffic cameras in Moscow
All the photo- and video-recording complexes in Moscow are real and record traffic violations, there are no fake ones among them. This was announced on October 2 by the Moscow Department of Transport in its Telegram channel, which shared details about the operation of traffic cameras.
The camera's functionality allows you to record violations at night as well as during the day, and in any weather. A built-in infrared spotlight provides illumination without blinding drivers, the department explained. The cameras are able to "recognize" a car, even if the license plates are dirty. Neural networks help them in this.
In addition, photovideofixation complexes are able to recognize all types of violations at once, rather than one at a time. For example, if a driver simultaneously exceeded the speed limit and crossed a solid line, two violations will be recorded.
Deptrans also noted that thanks to the cameras, the accident rate at the installation sites is reduced by 30%.
The day before, it was reported that automatic monitoring of the availability of a CTP policy from traffic cameras for photo-video recording of violations could be introduced in a pilot mode as early as the end of this year.
On September 24, it became known that a bill was submitted to the State Duma, according to which the owner of a car recorded by cameras without a CTP policy would be fined no more than once a day.
All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
