New best-selling cars in Russia in early autumn are named
The Lada Granta family and its models topped the Russian car market in September. In early autumn, sales totaled 11.9 thousand units, which is a quarter less than a year ago, and Granta's market share dropped below the 10% threshold. This is stated in the message of the analytical agency Autostat, which was received by Izvestia on October 3.
The Haval Jolion crossover remains the bestseller among foreign cars, with a result of 6,154 cars in September. For the second month in a row, this model surpasses Lada Vesta in sales (5,997 units), which is in third place. The top five were rounded out by the Belgee X50 and Geely Monjaro (5,547 and 4,043 units, respectively).
The top ten market leaders also included Haval M6, Lada Niva Legend, Chery Tiggo 7L, Belgee X70 and Lada Largus. It is noteworthy that among all these models from the top 10, production in Russia and/or Belarus is not localized only at Geely Monjaro and Chery Tiggo 7L.
Half of the leading models recorded a double-digit market decline in early autumn. The situation is worse in this regard for Lada Vesta (-43.1%), analysts noted. Of those models that show positive dynamics, the Belgee X70 crossover stood out the most — due to its low comparative base, its sales increased by more than six times.
If we consider the dynamics over the past nine months, then only two crossovers are "in the black" — the Belgee and the Lada Largus station wagon. Sales of Lada Vesta and Geely Monjaro decreased the most — by a third compared to the level of a year ago, experts said.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that by the end of September this year, 122.7 thousand new passenger cars were sold in Russia, which is 18.7% less than in the same month of 2024. In just nine months of 2025, 895.9 thousand new passenger cars were sold in the Russian Federation (22.4% less than in January –September last year).
