So, in the Rostov region in the morning, on 861 km of the federal highway M-4 "Don", a 48-year-old SUV driver, having fallen asleep at the wheel from exhaustion, as he was moving from Moscow to the scene of the accident almost without stopping, ran over a truck parked on the right in the course of his movement, which got on the road as a result of engine failure in less than five minutes before that. In the Republic of Tatarstan, in the evening, at 823 km of the M-7 Volga highway, a 41-year-old female driver with less than two years of driving experience was distracted by a child in the car while driving and ran over a truck parked on the right in the acceleration lane, which was half an hour before it stopped due to a malfunction of the braking system. The State Traffic Inspectorate urged drivers to strictly observe traffic regulations and be more attentive to their well-being before getting behind the wheel. It is important not to overestimate your strength, not to neglect even the most insignificant signs of impending fatigue. If the tired state has occurred directly during a long-distance trip, it is recommended not to fight it and rest until you fully recover (stay overnight at a hotel or just sleep for a few hours in the cabin of a car parked in a safe place).
"We remind motorists that one of the most vulnerable categories among underage road users are child passengers. When traveling with them, avoid risky driving behavior, exceeding the speed limit, sudden lane changes, overtaking, and other dangerous maneuvers. Also, try not to be distracted by children while driving. Any actions with their young passengers should be performed by the driver only after the vehicle has stopped completely, otherwise loss of control over the road is inevitable," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
Earlier, on September 30, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the number of accidents and deaths in road accidents on Russian roads had decreased by 9%.
