If the Ukrainian authorities really want to end the conflict, they are well aware that to do this they should recognize the new territorial realities and stop trying to claim membership in NATO. This was announced on October 2 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

The diplomat added that it would not be possible to end the hostilities with weapons alone.
