Increasing the supply of foreign air defense systems will not solve Ukraine's current problems. This was stated to Izvestia on October 2 by former special forces officer, retired Colonel Anatoly Matviychuk.

"We have upgraded the missiles, but the Patriot system is not able to intercept our missiles. They're maneuvering in a downward trajectory, and Patriot can't handle them," the military expert said.

According to him, even if the number of Patriot systems supplied increases, this will not lead to an improvement in the situation for Ukraine.

"A new Patriot is needed, but the United States has a limited number of them. That is, it is possible that Ukraine will not receive any such effective measures in the near future," Matviychuk said.

He also added that the problem with military equipment in Ukraine is of a technological nature.

The Financial Times (FT) newspaper reported on the same day that officials in the West and Ukraine believe that Russia has improved its ballistic missiles, significantly improving the ability to bypass the Patriot. According to the newspaper, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are increasingly intercepting Russian missiles. Russian ammunition is now bypassing American interceptors "in the last seconds."
