A Moscow court has arrested Ekaterina Kotrikadze, a Dozhd journalist, in absentia.

The Golovinsky Court of Moscow granted the request of the investigation and in absentia chose a preventive measure in the form of detention against a journalist of the Dozhd TV channel (recognized as a foreign agent and an undesirable organization in the Russian Federation) Ekaterina Kotrikadze (recognized as a foreign agent). This was reported to Izvestia on October 2 in court.

Kotrikadze is charged with part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation"). The penalty under this article is imprisonment for a term of five to 10 years.

According to the court file, the arrest decision will take effect on October 7.

On July 18, it was reported that a criminal case had been opened against Tikhon Dziadko, editor-in-chief of the Dozhd TV channel, and journalists Ekaterina Kotrikadze and Valeria Ratnikova (all three are recognized as foreign agents in the Russian Federation). They are suspected of committing crimes under clause "d" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Later, on September 5, it became known that Ekaterina Kotrikadze and another Dozhd journalist, Valeria Ratnikova (recognized as a foreign agent), were put on the wanted list.
