Kuzbass has completed an investigation into the bribery of former officials

In the Kemerovo region, the investigation of a criminal case on bribery of former officials of the Novokuznetsk Municipal District administration has been completed. This was announced on October 2 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU TFR) for the region.

"The Investigative Committee for Kuzbass has completed the investigation of a criminal case against <...> the first deputy head, head of the Department of Industry, Transport and Communications, as well as the head of the construction department of the Novokuznetsk Municipal District administration," the department said in a Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, in the period from March to October 2024, the defendants offered a bribe of 1 million rubles to a representative of a commercial organization to ensure that he would accept and pay for the work performed after the construction of a sports school for children. In January, the defendants in the case were detained with the help of Rosgvardiya employees. A criminal case was opened on this fact.

They were charged under clauses "a" and "b" of Part 5 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Receiving a bribe by a group of persons by prior agreement on a large scale").

At the moment, by court decision, the property of the accused has been seized (the total amount amounted to more than 11 million rubles).

The case has been sent to the court for consideration on the merits.

On August 7, the Investigative Committee of Russia announced the arrest in the Nizhny Novgorod region of employees of a commercial company who are accused of fraud in fulfilling a state defense order. The amount of stolen money amounted to more than 250 million rubles.
