The death toll from the earthquake in the Philippines has risen to 72 people, while the number of injured increased to 294 people. This was reported on October 2 by the GMA News agency, citing data from the National Council for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (NDRRMC).

"Three more people died overnight, ranging from 69 to 72, and more than 200 were injured," the publication said.

Earlier, on September 30, an earthquake of magnitude 6.9 was reported off the coast of the Philippines. It is specified that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 18 km northeast of the city of Bogo, and the source was at a depth of 10 km.

The next day, 26 people were reported dead and 147 injured. Immediate assistance to earthquake victims was organized in the Philippines.
