Blood diseases of tumor and non-tumor origin are more common in women than in men. Diseases of the blood system are an extensive group of pathologies that are divided into two main categories: tumor and non-tumor. Tumor diseases account for about 15% of cases, among which non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma and Hodgkin's lymphoma are the most common. Non-cancerous conditions include anemia, cytopenia, and blood clotting disorders.
"The reported incidence of diseases of the blood system of tumor origin is higher in women <...> the ratio is 52% versus 48%. Every year in Russia, about 30 thousand tumor diseases of the blood system and about 200 thousand non—tumor diseases are diagnosed," the doctor said.
As the doctor noted, such diseases can be detected by a blood test. Any deviations from the norm may indicate the presence of pathology.
"It is possible to suspect a disease of the blood system by clinical analysis, where the doctor analyzes blood parameters <...> A decrease or increase in indicators may indicate various diseases," the specialist explained.
Earlier in the day, Parovichnikova said that anemia is detected in 10-15% of the population, especially in women of reproductive age and the elderly. As the doctor noted, initially the therapist deals with the diagnosis of anemia syndrome.
