- The airborne artillery advanced from Chasova Yar and struck at the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Assault units and gunners of the Ivanovo Guards Airborne Unit from the Southern Group of Forces continue their offensive in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), pushing back the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) further and further to Konstantinovka from the settlement of Chasov Yar. This was reported on October 2 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
"During the reconnaissance by UAVs (unmanned aerial vehicles. — Ed.), the AFU command post was discovered. An accurate salvo of the Grad multiple launch rocket system destroyed personnel, an ammunition depot and a command post," the Defense Ministry said.
The paratroopers opened the enemy's defense system, identified the main firing points in forest plantations and destroyed buildings and carried out a sweep of fortified positions, destroying machine-gun emplacements, infantry squad and sniper of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as a hexacopter trying to deliver ammunition to the attackers.
According to the ministry, airborne units operate along the border of the Kursk region, creating a buffer zone and correcting artillery fire using drones. During these actions, the paratroopers not only conduct reconnaissance and destroy identified targets, but also strengthen control over key areas, ensuring the advancement of other units.
Earlier, on September 7, the Grad MLRS crews of the Tula airborne unit struck a camouflaged command post of Ukrainian formations in the Sumy region, destroying enemy equipment and personnel. It was noted that targets are identified using drones that conduct reconnaissance and correct artillery fire.
