Rospatent may terminate the legal protection of the Maxim Galkin trademark (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation). The corresponding application was submitted to the agency by Anatoly Aronov, President of the First Patent Company.

"Why do we need this trademark if there's no one else to use it anyway? What died should go away, make room. We have to clean the field like this so that nothing gets in the way," RT quotes him as saying.

If the protection status is lifted, the comedian may lose the exclusive rights to his own name. This includes the possibility of registration of the relevant rights by a third party.
