Special "alarm buttons", according to him, do not allow you to delete all data, but only those that are set in the settings. This property is an advantage of third-party applications over the mechanisms built into Android and iOS that offer to completely clear the memory, Bederov noted.

"On Android, for example, there is a SecAddon application suitable for this purpose, which allows you to set scripts for deleting certain files and password blocking individual applications. Such scenarios may include disconnecting the smartphone from charging, unlocking the screen, or rebooting. You can also start the process remotely by sending yourself an SMS," Bederov explained.

The expert also mentioned the AutoWipe service, which allows you to urgently activate instant memory cleanup if you do not have time to manipulate the Google Search Portal.

"The AutoWipe application is notable for the fact that it allows you to quickly activate data deletion remotely, for example, by sending yourself a coded SMS. The trigger can also be set by incorrectly entering the screen unlock code or removing the SIM card," Bederov said.

According to the expert, only the built-in Device Search service can be used for iOS. It also allows you to remotely lock your device or erase all data, but this will require much more actions.
