Courts in Moscow have banned websites selling kangaroos and crocodiles
In Moscow, courts blocked access to Internet sites selling Bennett kangaroos and crocodiles at the request of the prosecutor's office. Izvestia learned about this on October 2 after reviewing the relevant materials.
"The data available on the above—mentioned pages of the website provides an unlimited number of people with the opportunity to purchase Bennett kangaroos, which are listed in Annex I, II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)," the court said.
Another decision also prohibits access to the pages of trading platforms where advertisements for the sale of crocodile were posted.
"Keeping such animals at home or for private purposes is prohibited," the resolutions say.
On September 17, it was reported that the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow granted the appeal of the prosecutor's office and banned resources for the sale of African ostriches, servals, giraffes and other exotic animals. It is clarified that the resources with ads for the sale of animals were in Russian. By buying some animals, it was possible to arrange home delivery.
