Magnitogorsk Metallurg Hockey Club has signed a contract with the 2018 Stanley Cup winner, Russian striker Evgeny Kuznetsov. The relevant information was posted on the team's official website on October 1.

It is noted that the agreement with the player is concluded before the end of the 2025/2026 season.

"Evgeny is a player of the highest class, such hockey players are a piece piece in the free agent market. We all know his strengths: technique, skating, the ability not only to solve an episode on his own, but also to create a moment for partners," said Evgeny Biryukov, the club's sports director.

Kuznetsov spent the 2024/25 season at SKA. He scored 37 (12+25) points in 39 regular season matches. In the playoffs, he scored three (1+2) points in three games. SKA terminated the contract with the 33-year-old striker in April 2025, Sport-Express adds.

Earlier, on August 23, HC SKA signed a contract with striker Nikolai Goldobin. It was reported that the contract is valid until the end of the 2027/28 season. In the 2024/25 season, the athlete played in 74 matches for Spartak, where he was able to score 24 goals and give 43 assists.
