A shelter for 600 stray dogs will be opened in Sevastopol.

There are plans to build a shelter for stray dogs in Sevastopol. The premises and enclosures must accommodate up to 600 animals, the information is published on the public procurement portal.

The cost of developing the project was 12 million rubles, and it should be prepared by 2026. The contractor was PromGidroStroy company. The organization was previously engaged in the design of a public bathhouse in Kacha, writes IA SevastopolMedia.

More than 85 million rubles will be spent on the construction of the shelter itself. The building has an area of 460 sq. m. The building will be one-story. The construction will include administrative, veterinary and postoperative blocks and a block. Outdoor areas are provided on the adjacent territory.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that in Russia they want to create a unified register of breeders engaged in breeding animals for sale. The aim of the initiative is to fully legalize the activities of breeders and reduce the number of aggressive stray animals.
